What exactly will my child receive every month?
Your child will receive three books with each delivery. Our 0-2 year olds will receive three board books, our 3-5 year olds and 5-6 year olds will receive two story books and one activity book. Our 7-8 year olds, 8-9 year olds and 9-10 year olds will receive three story books.
Are the months themed?
It’s not our focus to theme books but we will endeavour to create a loose connection between the books we send.
Do you deliver all over the country, and how much is delivery?
Right now, we are only based in Cape Town but as we grow we hope to include the rest of the country. Delivery costs are included in your monthly fee of R299.
How are the books selected?
This is our pride our joy, where we thrive on selecting the best books for your child based on their educational and developmental input.
When can we expect our first delivery?
Delivery will happen on the 15th of every month. Should this date happen to fall over a weekend, your delivery will occur on the Monday. Those who sign up before the 5th of the month will receive their first delivery by the 15th. Those who sign up after the 5th of the month, will receive their delivery the following month on the 15th.
I’ll never be able to keep up with reading all the books we are going to receive every month
That’s okay! It’s not about keeping up with the deliveries, it’s about building a library for your child. This allows them to pull a book off the shelf anytime they want to page through one, and it means the books are always there for whenever you get the chance to read to your children.
Will you be offering subscriptions for older children and adults in the future?
We now offer subscriptions up to 10 years old. We are still in the process of updating our website, but send us an email in the meantime and we will help you sign your children up.
How do we pay?
You can either opt to pay via stop order into the Storytime bank account, or you can fill out the debit order mandate form on checkout and send it back to us. We’ll submit your details and each month you’ll be debited on the 1st. You’re able to cancel your subscription at any time.
Are the books new or used?
All our books are purchased and sent brand new.
What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Either cancel your account from the “My Account” page, or send us an email.
Why can I not just buy books from leading bookstores?
Well, we hope that you do do that. We love reading and story telling and want children, especially, to read as much as they can. Buy books all the time and build your child’s library. Our aim is to help you as parents who are time poor and often feel overwhelmed by the choice of books on offer. You can trust our experts to select the best books for your child, books that are appropriate to their age and development.
What if we already own a book we receive?
You can either:
1. Request to donate the book – we donate all used / returned books to our local church ministries. If you would like to donate used books, contact us, and we will send you a pre-paid, pre-addressed courier bag for you to send the books back in.
2. Request a refund – we will arrange to collect the book from you and we will supply you with an extra book to replace it in your next delivery.
Where does Storytime deliver to?
We deliver only around Cape Town for now, but will be expanding to deliver all over South Africa soon.
Can we change our billing and shipping address?
Yes – simply log in to your account, and use the “My Account” page to make any changes you need.
Is this a scam?

Hopefully when you chat to them you will see how passionate they are about children reading (and adults too).
Can we suggest new books for your monthly deliveries?
Of course! Please send us your suggestions.
What if we receive a damaged book?
Return them to us and we will arrange a replacement.
What if our order was never received, even if it was reported as delivered?
Let us know, and we’ll sort it out as speedily as possible.
